Thinking of buying a sub-$300 gas scooter

Nah, just take it out on the street; if you have any problems simply consult a mortician.

At least around here, the cops will pull you over and tell you that you are not allowed to ride them on the street. See if you can find yourself something like an old Honda Express moped along with a dot approved helmet, and you should really look to see if your state requires a moped license.

I see you are located in texas.

Does anyone know the traffic laws in california? A ticket will totally ruin the fuel saving with scooter.

i may be wrong, but usually it cant be over a specific engine size or over a said speed.

I would never take someting like that on a main road. no lights or signals at all. so most likely you would get pulled over before got less than a mile from home.

why not look in the classified ads of your local paper and see if you could find a cheap, used motorcycle, or even a bike? 300 will get you a decent bike and it will allow you to exersize too.

The cheap ones are cheap. Don't expect them to last very long.

Hmm.. Wow. I'm way out of the scooter loop. That thing is a lot better than I thought it was going to be for 350 bucks. :Q Nice. I'm impressed.

The weak spot is the 2-cycle engine. Cheap ones are only designed to last 500-800 hours before they are trash. Use a high quality synthetic 2 cycle oil to help reach this goal.

California is where the that style of scooter started. As far as I know, they are like Oregon and treat them as bicycles. Here in Oregon, it is legal to drive them on the street in a bicycle lane, or in a street with no bicycle lane and a posted speed limit of 35?mph or less.

Get this one instead.

That's the style of scooter I'm more familiar with. That body style was originally made by Big Boy Scooters, and there is a reason others have copied it.

Again, the weak spot is the 2 cycle engine. You will thank yourself for getting electric start. That alone is worth it.

In TN, the law says anything with a 100cc+ engine requires a license...other than that...

A M (Motorcycle) license?
