its about 50 cents per kilowatt hour where we are in california. i did the math and currently it takes $350 a month give or take to run my entire milkyway@home farm at those rates. im so glad im not the one paying for power, and the one who is is running 3 to 4 times as much stuff as me :awe:

Me thinks you exaggerate a bit. Yes you can get into situations in CA where you reach the tier 5 baseline and incur around that price; but if you average the total cost of the bill it rarely, even for businesses, gets over 20c a kwh.

12¢ / kWh - up to the baseline
14¢ / kWh - 101 to 130% of baseline
29¢ / kWh - 131 to 200% of baseline
42¢ / kWh - 201 - 300% of baseline
50¢ / kWh - over 300% of baseline

just keep you twin GTXs... it won't make much of a difference... rather go for 5970 for much better gaming experience plus good power saving feature LOL!

have you ever looked at your electricity bill? Because it sounds like you are spending at least $1400 a month on just running computers
