I agree the H2 is an overpriced Tahoe. H3 is suppose to come out in 2005. Smaller than the H2, its based on a new chevy truck coming out.

Is it really all that surprising that the civilian version of the hummer is no where near as durable as the military's?

From the looks of it, that was just a tierod that broke... the guy is obviously an amateur rock crawler since he drives an H2 with an automatic transmission, 40 billion candle power worth of lights, and drives around rocks like he's looking for a parking spot.

There should be no "just a..." about it, it should not have happened. These things are marketed as offroad capable, they should be.

Of course not... but either way, it's a civilian vehicle that's had comfort features built in, which more often than not, means cheaper parts and lighter parts.
And the manufacturer can't really be faulted for a moron who doesn't know what he's doing. From what I can make out of what the people are saying, it sounds like he previously had a mishap his "first time" up that same area.

I got a chuckle out of the "Ecoterrorism" thread. Ah well, different strokes for different folks I spose.

That's kind of pathetic, but I'm surprised the thing lost traction so dramatically... thought they had some electronic traction control crap that should have curbed that. I'm not sure if it was the sudden traction that caused the break or just the weight of that fat pig of a vehicle coming down on the rocks that did it.

That didn't LOOK like any sort of challenging trail, but ?? maybe I'm mistaken. But slow and steady is the key to making it through something like that.

The H2 is not the civilian version of the military Hummer. The H1 is and it is every bit as capable as the military version. The H2 is a beefed up mommy wagon based on the Chevy Tahoe.

not only that, they are marketed as the last of the hardcore offroad vehicles in their radio commercials. all the talk about how the other SUVs are fat and lazy like their owners. too funny.

omg PAHAHA!

I've noticed that in the commercial where the H2 is driving at night in "africa", kicking up dirt, that it is on a paved road when they zoom in close to the car.
