Thinking of buying a Malata N996 DVD player...advice?

I suppose the title says it all. I've been looking for a while, and because of my proximity to Scarecrow Videos - the best video store on earth I've been thinking about buying a new DVD player that can accomodate PAL+NTSC, and be regionless. Does anyone have advice with this player?

Its touted as the best player out right now that can do excellent ntsc->pal conversions and has all the bells and whistles the crappy apex and daewoo type players do not. There are however some problems with this player that some people have experienced. I believe you can get your answer over at asiandvdguide.com or kfccinema.com forums...alot of users over there view dvds coded in regions other than 1 and own the Malata or some other region code hackable counterpart.
