I have a P2-350 sitting here that has a Voodoo 5 5500 AGP. I installed Win98SE on it and it runs smooth.

Forget quake.

Unreal is very good and Unreal: Return to Na Pali (a mission pack).

Those 2 alone will keep you occupied.

Try Guru3D for drivers.

Old games don't really need more than a voodoo3 series, 256 MB and a 333 - 600 MHz CPU, so there's no need to pay more than $20-25 for the video card and slot-1 parts are dirt cheap.

Some games:
Blood 2 and Chosen expansion (worked great with my voodoo3 2000, never gotten it to run on any nvidia card)
Mechwarrior II series 3dfx versions
Hexen II

also Blood 1 was a great DOS-based shooter.

A good soundcard is an Aureal like the old Diamond Monster, they had much cleaner DOS soundblaster / soundblaster pro emulation than any Creative cards.

I have to say the Earth2150 serires. I played those games on a 500mhz Athlon w/ a Vodoo 3 3000 adn it ran super smooth. My 9800 can't keep up in DX or OGL.
