thinking about trying Windows 7 Ultimate N

has anybody tried this version? what did you think of it? i do not use either IE or WMP so i am thinking about giving it a try.

I'm just curious, but how do you download firefox or chrome (or whatever browser you use) without using internet explorer? I understand you could download it on another computer, and transfer it via a usb key or something, but all seems kinda ridiculous. I don't like IE but it serves a purpose and it's easier to just not use it than go out of your way to remove it from the os completely.

If you are a serious user of the Internet you need both IE8 and FF.

Reason been is that some sites works better with one, and some with the other.

Easy, the same way you got IE back in Win95 Gold days, when IE wasn't built-in. Use the built-in FTP client instead!

i never use IE now as it is so why have it installed? i have firefox installed now and have the setup file on back up drive. easy as pie!!!

No, you really don't. I consider myself a pretty serious Internet user and I don't even have Windows at home.

i use the internet a lot and go to many sites, i have yet to find site that firefox could not handle

I don't see the point. If you don't want to use IE or WMP, than don't; I don't. The only purpose for that edition's existence is for the EU to give the USA a inconsequential, ineffective F' you. Who cares about a couple mb of drive space?

Wrong...
The internet comes bundled with Windows and doesn't work on other platforms. At one point in time, you could also get it from AOL.
