Thinking about the Pioneer 106S, but I'm not sure

I was just wondering if someone could give me some good info on this dvd-rom drive, I've heard that its fast, but uses a lot of cpu usage. I want something that's fast, smooth, and will read my cd's w/out a hitch (Who doesn't?). Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks

Not sure about CPU usage but I have never saw one skip with my Pioneer dvd drive. With Voodoo III card & Celeron 333 processor it ran great. Now running athlon 600 and Radeon and just as good as the output on my home dvd player.
