Thinking about starting my own website, good places to learn the html basics?

Well, I think I've finally decided to go out and learn the in's and out's of operating a website of my own...

I'm a total newbie at html so I was wondering if you guys could provide some sites that you personally found useful and/or helpful when you first started? Thanks a bunch. 🙂

HTMLGoodies.com is a great place, and in fact, the author of the site, Dr. Joe Burns has a few books out. Another good book is HTML 4.0, my friend bought it for $15 at Borders, and he pretty much picked up enough HTML to create a website w/frames in about a month or so.
