They'd all have AMD 64 3000+ 939's you bet, but what is a good/cheap/quiet HSF combo for them?

Might even want to ask what's a good cheap motherboard also, my ASUS A8V was kinda spendy and painful to work with.

stock hsf? i'm running the stock hsf on my s754 3200+ right now and it's fine. not too loud, and definately cools it. i do however have a zalman 7000b coming in, but that's only because i want to try o/c'ng a bit.

why not go with s754 3000+ cpus and something like the chaintech board? it's cheap and solid. i know the upgrade path isn't as long, but you can still go to at least 3700+ in the future, which gives some definate head room.

insolence, someone i know opened a lan center, and decided to go prebuilt by dell (or gateway now that i think about it i'm not sure). they upgrade the components in waves themselves, but to start off they built by company. Perhaps if you're serious that an option to explore. That cafe has a webpage, pm me if you want me to ask him how it was starting a cafe, they are relatively successful now, with 2 cafe's open now in two cities.

i would just go with the stock hsf if you are going to open a lan cafe. while the cnps7000alcu is 30 dollars, multiply that by however many computers. the stock one will do you well, and it's not like your going to overclock (are you?)

If you have any intentions of upgrading I'd say Dell and Gateway are out, and you can forget about overclocking of course. Something like the Zalman 7000 series should last quite awhile assuming it remains compatible with socket upgrades.

Come to think of it I've had the same HS in my system for at least 2 years, the Alpha PAL8045 its still one of the best socket A heatsinks out there.
