Thinking about second a monitor

I have a system that is a couple years old and I am thinking about adding a second monitor to it.

I just started playing Everquest again and I figured I could use one monitor for EQ and the other for web browsing, etc.

I currently have:

Power Supply: Corsair HX750
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-P55-USB3
CPU: Core i5-750 Lynnfield
Video Card: XFX Radeon HD 5870 1GB
Monitor: Dell U2713HM http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/productdetail.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=dhs&cs=19&sku=225-4015

I was thinking about adding another Dell U2713HM.

Can my video card handle that?
Or would I need to upgrade my video card?
If I upgrade, what should I upgrade to and will I be able to get a card that is compatible with my mobo?

Thanks,

Choir

Pretty sure the 5870 can drive up to 3 displays, two from MDP and one from DVI.

The question would be will it affect your EQ frame rates much to drive both, and that I'm not sure about.

I DO know that the 5870 is a very expensive card (Newegg/Amazon ~400 USD) I think because they're really good at bitcoin mining. If you wanted to upgrade GPUs, you can probably get a VERY good price for selling your used 5870 and transmuting that into a 7870, 7950, or 7970.

The secondary display will hardly add anything to the GPU load since you plan to use it for 2D. You should be good to go.
