you'll want thesamba, not vwvortex. Read up , they can be a lot of fun. 67 is a rough year if you try to really "restore" . There were a lot of 1967 only parts.
 
My brother had a '50's model bug he used to let me drive, I think it was a form of punishment, top speed of 60, crappy heater, no gas gauge, (dipstick) and a harsh
ride to boot. Was glad to see it go...
