Thinking about leaving Verizon

I currently have an $80 nationwide premium plan. I like using the web to read and do quick look ups. I always use the gps. I tried looking at lowering my plan but if I added those separately then it would be the same or more. I saw an add on the tv the other day for boost mobile 50 unlimited plan. I was wondering if anyone has tried that how their service is and all that? Also if anyone can offer any other viable solutions.

The Boost is getting killed right now. Several hour delays in texts for starters. Stay away until it gets sorted. Sprint has 450 minutes with unlimited everything else(text, data, GPS, BB, etc) for $70 or 900 for $90. Pretty much the best deal going right now. Do a search for new SERO and it knocks it down to $60.(maybe $70, not 100% sure)

Excuse the fanboy-sounding post, but in my experience, Verizon is the most reliable network. It doesn't come with the cool plans like other carriers do, and costs a crapload more than others, but it's reliable. Calls rarely drop for me, texts get sent within a minute (yes I did actually time it), and customer service was pretty decent (unlike certain healthcare insurance companies).

The only beef I have with Verizon though is that for me, one out of every 400 texts aren't received, for some reason. That's pretty much the only con, besides price, that I have.

only prob i have with texts on verizon is going to sprint phones. ive noticed a couple friends that have sprint phones dont get my texts until like 30 minutes after i send them, and pictures sometimes take hours to get there. otherwise, im pretty happy with verizons stability and service so far. at work we have had pretty much every provider at one point or another, and verizon has been the best so far, both in price and service.

Well I have no prob with verizon service just the price is a bit much for what I get. But I also don't want to sacrifice service for price so for right now that leaves out boost.

If I were you, I would get Verizon if I had the spare change to or if something money-related (work, stock quotes, etc) depends on how reliable my carrier is. If you're short on money or don't need the excellent service for the high price, then I'd go with something else.

But that's just my opinion.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, carriers vary by location. If you're having problems OP than talk with people around your area which one's best as opinions here won't help when talking coverage and support. AT&T is solid gold in my area and I'd recommend that, but people from other areas say it's terrible.

Very true! I carry two laptop connection cards, one on Sprint and the other AT&T. When I travel, sometimes Sprint wins and sometimes it is AT&T.

Over that last 4 years, I've been with Sprint, ATT, TMobile and now Verizon. Out of all of them, TMobile had the best customer service experience with Verizon coming very close. Network wise, Verizon has been the most constant everywhere I've traveled in the US. Yes, they are a little pricey, but with the family plans, you basically have unlimited calling now that they include your Top 10.

Yes you guys are right I have tried pricing my plan with other carriers but came out to more expensive or same price. I am not willing to sacrifice my service for a lower plan for boost.

Personally I wouldn't touch Verizon with a 50-ft pole. I'm currently talking with the SCC and BBB about them. Verizon had a false debt on me, sent it to a collection notice and put it on my credit report without trying to contact me (this was how I first found out about it), and then when I came up with proof that the charge was false they refuse to receive my calls. Whenever I try to call their customer support they hang up on me, and when I try to ask for a supervisor they say there is none available. For 2 months I've been dealing with this and will likely have to go to court.

Well I just went to the verizon store because the customer rep told me that there was a software upgrade. They upgraded me to 11 and I had 11 so I guess there is no upgrade. So they will give me another phone and we'll see how long this one lasts.

same happened to me and my ex with sprint. someone opened an account in her maiden name with my soc sec number (had to be inside job) and took us to collections for thousands of dollars of charges. once the fraud dept was brought in, sprint refused to talk to us about it. this pissed me off to no end until i was contacted and told the regular reps werent allowed to talk to me, based on the fact that the account was suspected of fraud. it was all wiped out, but it did take a lot of patience and about a year.
