I have a 17 inch Sony now, and I am thinking about picking up another 17 inch monitor.
I currently have a Voodoo 3 2000 AGP (not overclocked) in my system. I hardly play any games. Halflife TFC is about it. I was thinking about picking up a Matrox G450 from newegg.com. I was wondering how was the drivers for Windows 2000/XP for this card, and also how fast/slow would this card be compared to my Voodoo 3. My Voodoo 3 runs TFC fine for me, so thats not a problem.

I know my Voodoo 3 is "outdated" but it still plays everything fine for me.

g400/450 ROCKS in win2k!

i'm actually running 3 monitors right now. g400 + mystique g200

i assume you're saying you'd get the singlehead g450? and add it to your existing voodoo3?

therefore, you'd still be able to use the voodoo3 for gaming i believe

i'm actually pretty satisfied, though, with my g400 for gaming...i can get around 65 fps @ 1024x768 in quake2 with it

ahhh! great option! i think if you're not heavy into gaming you're gonna LOVE the g450...especially since it can be had relatively inexpensively these days.

I think it was $88 for the OEM version on Newegg.com

It can probably be found cheaper if I look around. Like I said the only game I play any at all is Halflife TFC, and sometimes very rarely Quake 3.

BTW Thanks... Guess I'll look into the Matrox dual head card. I was thinking at one time of going with 2 video cards, etc... but this sounds like a better ideal.

i played half life with my g400 about a year ago..seemed to run fine. i still play q3 to this day, and it runs very respectably...plus the g450 is obviously faster than my g400.

you really can't go wrong. GREAT 2d, respectable 3d, and AWESOME dualhead win2k support! matrox is still the best in my book!
