thinking about getting a Canon A70, thoughts?

I've been looking at a decent small camera, and (thanks Martin!) found one in my price range - the Canon A70. Been reading reviews (Steve's Digicams etc). Anyone have this particular model and care to share their thoughts on it? I'm set with the rest of the equipment (cards, batteries, case, etc.), I just need a new point-and-shoot camera 🙂

Great camera, I've had it for about a year now. Though it can do plenty of stuff, I never read the manual and just use it as a point and shoot camera.

Had an A60 (mechanically the same camera but with 2mp instead of 3) for a while and it's absolutely amazing. Not a better alternative out there in the price range. Here's a page with some photos I took with it so you can get an idea of what you can expect.... A60 photos

Go for it! As the Viet dude above me said, it's been discontinued in favour of the marginally improved A75 so you can get a good deal on it.

The A70s screen gets scratched pretty easily and I also find you have to look at it straight on to see anything. I'd go for the A80 with the rotating screen.
