Thinking about buying a laptop

I've been looking and looking for quite sometime to purchase a new laptop.

Here's what I found @ Dell Outlet:

Dell 6000
1.6 Pentium 730 (533mhz)
512mb Ram (1 dimm)
40gig 5400rpm HD
128mb x300 Graphics
15.4" WSXGA+
Internal Bluetooth
Internal Wireless
XP Home

It's $832 + shipping, no tax.

Yes? No?

Also, here's a dumb question: Can DDR memory (not DDR2) be used in this machine? I'm assuming that it can't, but after I added it in my cart it said, "512mb DDR 400mhz".

not bad, the HDD is a bit small. i think you can get a better config using the $750 off 1500

This was the best I saw for what I was looking for using the $750 coupon:

Inspiron 6000
1.6 ghz 730
256mb Ram
128mb x300 Graphics
40gig 4200rpm HD
15.4" WGXA Screen
Internal Wireless
Two year warranty (which was something I really liked)

This came to $1501 - $750 = $751 + $89 Shipping = $840

The total w. shipping for the Refurb = $896 (They have $25 off on next day shipping)

I have to do next day because I live in Alaska.

So, for $56 I get:
WXGA+ or as opposed to the WXGA
512mb instead of 256mb (which either way I will throw another 512mb stick in)
Internal Bluetooth
5400rpm HD as opposed to 4200rpm HD

Although it has a 90 day mail-in compared to the 2-year at-home service, and it's a refurb as opposed to new.

I am using this as a mobile studio, so the higher resolution would be nice. And the fast hard drive is a plus; I don't really care about this size. I have an external HD which I'll be using as well.

Opinions?
