Thinking about buying a Fujitsu...

I've been looking for a lappy for a while now. I can't afford to spend more than $500-600 (actually, affording THAT is questionable 😀 ) so going for one of the good deals around is still too much $.

So ebay here I come. Everybody says ThinkPads are reliable as hell, but for the same amount of money a Fujitsu offers a lot more (combo drive, FireWire). I don't want to go w. HP, Compaq, Dell (maybe), or Sony, I've seen people end up w. probs. that could be dealt with if it's new but not used like this. Anybody have any firsthand experience w. Fujitsu?

TIA

Here is one for you to take a look at don't know exactly what you need .

Well after a little more research i see that its barebones.

Yeah, I thought about something like that, but I decided I needed a battery; the point (for me) about a laptop is that you can use it w.o. a plug in. Still, for some this is ideal.

Another thing you might want to think about is parts availability outside of warranty. Especially since you're buying it used, no telling what the condition will be in. Dell probably is the easiest to get parts for, from what I've seen. I recently had to replace some casing on my Sony VAIO, that took quite a bit of work to find.
