thinking about buying a ATV...

Raptors have great low end... very powerful. My dad has one of those and my brother has the Yamaha 450 race bike, equivelant to about a 450R Honda. The 450 is faster but the Raptor is just a tractor. The 450 is also wider and more stable through the turns at high speed.

Overall, I prefer the 450, but the Raptor is a great quad.

Whatever you do, don't get a 4x4 utility ATV... those are no fun at all.

Fixed grammatical error in title. 😉

The first time we went he had me sit on the back and he drove. I was shocked how fast it went and how fast it got to the top speed.

I almost fell off a few times lol....

I use mine to pull out all the stuck Raptors.

lol...

I've never seen anyone on a sports quad slow down enough to get stuck 😉

Kidding... it's a valid point, I have just used both sports quads and utility quads and have quite a bit more fun on the sports quads.

Most guys I know that have ATV's are also outdoorsmen/hunters. Those that get a raptors usually enjoy the heck out of the for a few months and then realize they, infact, DO need a utility quad and try to sell their beloved raptors at a hell of a loss.

In that case a utility quad is a much better choice. I guess the people that I offroad with are more the weekend warrior dunes/trail riding type. To each his/her own.

I probably should not assume what type of duty you will be using this quad for. Are you more looking for a good time or to use it as a method of transportation for outdoor activities?
