Thinking about a new video card purchase

I have two GTX260 216 core Super Clocked in sli. The PCI slots are close together and the cards generate a lot of heat that tightly packed. So I'm looking at a single card solution for around $250.00. Don't care if it's ATI or Nvidia, just want the best bang for the bucks. I'll wind up selling both 260's to offset the newcard purchase. What cards am I looking at in that price range? Thanks for any input. I current have a MSI NF980-G65 mobo but I'm thinking of replacing that too at the same time. Thanks again.

Depending on deals, rebates and where you shop:
GTX 560 Ti
GTX 570
Radeon 6950 1GB
Radeon 6950 2GB

SLI 260 Core 216's must be pretty close to a 560Ti I would think? I know SLI 280/285 is the same speed. Within 20% anyway, my point being you won't see a huge performance increase. Probably better to spring for the 570 (if you can justify) or a reference 6950 and unlock/overclock. I'm guessing those cards will sell for 75ish at most a piece (I listed my 280 for $100 on Craigslist and sold it for $80 in early May).

Other than the temps issue, my twin GTX260 SC's are still very viable cards even though they are a few years old. I'll try to keep them cool and wait until the next gen cards come out to reconsider. Thanks for the input.
