Heh. Back when I was a little kid (early 1990's), my dad managed to find an old 286 machine that some company was throwing out (I think it was a 286 or something similarly old). It was a "laptop" in the loosest sense of the word...monochrome screen (LCD I think?), keyboard, 5.25" floppy drive (don't remember if there was a 3.5" or not), no hard drive....thing must have weighed at least 50 pounds. It did have a handle though. :p

In any case, I had a hell of a time trying to move that thing when I was 8-10 years old. :p Although I did use it to play oldskool DOS games like Alleycat. :p

Edit: My/our main computer was a 386 until like 1996 or 1997 , so it didn't seem that slow to me or anything...except that I couldn't run Windows 3.1 on it for lack of a hard drive. :p

The XPS is still rediculously heavy.

The latest joke about my XPS is when people see the power brick and cord. They say "My God I hope you don't cause a power outage when you plug that in!". It is kind of ridiculous indeed. I like it.
