Anyone who thinks being a biker is about Rolling Thunder, Toys for Tots, and poker runs is sadly mistaken.

Well being a Biker is not the same as being a 1% patch holder. Also a lot of the 1% patch holders aren't criminals though by being a part of those clubs they do associate with some criminal elements, sometimes stone cold killers.

a good friend of my step-father (named bob) rode with some pretty bad guys. hell he was a scary person also.

But this guy was also one of the nicest guys i have ever meet. But he was also one of the toughest and strongest men i have known. He gave me and my mother a ride to the store (my mom was going through cancer treatment at the time) and some college kids started giving my mother a hard time. Bob came up and asked if there was any trouble. the kids gave a smart aleck remark then bob kicked there ass. It was very cool.

of course i was 13 at the time and he treated me like a little brother so i do have some hero worship heh.

last i heard he was found dead under a tollway with multiple gunshot wounds =(

Edit: heh come to think of it bob was the only guy my step-father was afraid of. My step-father is one taugh guy also. 5ft 2 and 220 lbs of muscle and mutlible black belts. heh

I don't have much to say about those guys....except for "lame". Deep down that behavior is childish and, again, really lame.

Childish and lame in the same sense organized crime is childish and lame.

Take the time to read some of those reports regarding the HA Nomads in Quebec, it will blow you away.

I've read a ton about the different gangs, how important "colors" and loyalty are, and how some are rotten criminals, and others are nice guys. It really reminds me of the outlaw gangs back in the 1800's or the street gangs of New York in the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Seems to me like a lot of people just want to belong somewhere or have a sadistic bent.

I understand what you mean. It reminds me of the movie Tombstone with Kurt Russel where the Cowboys were a gang that wore those red sashes. Some of them were ok but others were real assholes.

That stuff that happened in Laughlin in the Harrahs Casino back in 2002 reminded me of the Shootout at the OK Corral. It only lasted 2 minutes of so but in the end there were 3 deaths and 12 people injured. All of this was captured on camera and it happened with a casino full of civilians (non Patch Holders)

I'm vague on the details of that, but I remember when it happened. They had grenades, rifles, and tons of handguns didn't they? That was just nuts.

Edit: Ok I googled and it appears it was just handguns. All hell broke loose though. I do remember some bikers using grenades on each other in public though. I can't remember where I read it though.

LOL, that's generally a good idea:)

There was an article at that site about a couple of Prison Guards losing their jobs because they joined the Outlaw MC. Hmm.. potential criminals guarding criminals. Sounds like an episode of "OZ"
