Looks like he's ripping a lot of DVD's in there...at 4.7gb per 2 hours of MPEG-2, he can fill it up in a hurry..
He obviously keeps it open as I doubt a harddrive would survive that long inside a closed case ( the clue is that the floppy is mounted inside the case). But again he lives in Sweden (I think) so it must be cooler there.
