Think we'll ever see something from STI using the H6-3.0L engine?

What's the weight difference?
I'd rather have a small light engine with forced air induction, than a big bulky one. Similarily, a VW 1.8T over a VR6 everyday.

Hmmm, let's see...

Well, the Limited Sedan weighs 3495lbs with the automatic,

the H6-3.0L Sedan weighs 3610lbs..

I do not know if all the weight is in the engine, or not.. but I guess it gives you a rough idea. ~110lbs more...

That's not too bad I guess.
It'd have to make a whole lot more power than the 300/300 2.5 to justify the gas mileage though.
Man, can you imagine a 400+hp twin turbo STi? :) :p

Looks like it's only available in some Outback models.

im guessing not

its pretty much a fer sure that the legacy is gonna be getting the 2.5T that is in the current STI (detuned - like the forester xt and baja turbo)

it has plenty of torque and hp:)

Hmm.. Reading about the 22B... Interesting and cool stuf.

But according to www.22b.com, it is 276HP stock.

well yah...350 hp at 6000rpm; versus 300 hp at what 4k? and there is so much more potential in our STI...with a few dollars im sure you could easily rip apart that 350 and have a ton more torque!

obviously theres more potential as the WRC team switched to it as well... other than marketing reasons of course. but on a stock for stock basis... i'll take the 22B... limited availability makes it more appealing to me as well. :)

I'm sure the upcoming Legacy will have a nicely massaged H6. Maybe not turboed, but still massaged.

They already said they are gonna drop the STI 2.5L turbo motor into the Legacy in the States.

Huh?

Read through the thread again. Pay particular attention to the title. If you can't figure it out, I guess I can tell you. :p

Even if it didn't make 400hp, it could make 300 and get better gas mileage than the H4 and do it at lower rpm, I would think.

That's kinda what I was thinking.

It could make 300HP(Or maybe best it a bit.. 325HP?) with a bit lower boost(better reliability?) and perhaps a flatter low end torque curve.

I dunno about the gas milage though. Maybe it would be about even with a lower boost..
