First off...the board is a MSI K8N Neo4 (non-sli) and I'm trying to use my OCZ Plat Rev2 sticks along with a 3800+.

I've primed at 2.6 with the cpu, but I can't get the memory above 205Mhz or so...regardless of vdim, Tcl, Trcd or Trp. Not even with 2T command settings. It's like the board just doesn't like the memory but I have used this memory in the system in my sig with no problem up to 245Mhz.

I've been looking for any old related articles on TCCD chips not working on this board, but I don't find anything specific.

Anyone remember any issues I've missed?

I too have a DFI nf4 but, as I recall slot placement for TCCDs is pretty important. I know the DFIs require TCCDs to be in teh orange slots. I would assume there is a similar necessity with the MSI board. Couldn't hurt to try right? If I may ask, are you re-building the rig in your sig due to a failure or building a new system.

I was just going to suggest the same thing.

do you have other memory with different IC's that you can test as well - I know its a pain but helps with narrowing down what the issues could be. I've said it before but I loved it when I had that board but I can't say which IC's the memory used for sure.

Had some patriot & mushkin CAS2 kits that clocked fine & a G.Skill CAS2 "value" kit that certainly wasn't value in performance. And never had 1 issue IIRC - try the other slots and see which bios rev you're using

I do seem to recall something about the board having some minor memory compatibility issues fixed with a bios update.

Just another rig that I want to stand up. As I said, the memory worked fine in the DFI board, but I can't get it to do squat in the MSI. I have moved the memory around in the slots...no effect.

I have sent off an email to OCZ regarding this weird situation. Clocked at 185, Everest has the following information:

read: 5661
write: 2439
latency: 52.9

I'm starting to wonder if it has something to do with the memory controller in the 4200 chip itself?

Thats way off, sounds like an IMC issue.

Tore machine down today to test memory in DFI Rig...ran it at 245 without a problem...looks as though it is the internal memory controller...now only if I hadn't lapped that cpu...
