You can see that thing up close and personal at the air force museum at Wright Patterson AFB. It's on a hangar on base and there's hardly anyone in there, it's awesome. I stopped by all the time when I worked there. It's considered one of the most exotic airplanes in existence.

That's easily the best aircraft museum in the world, hands down.

It was an experimental bomber. Since bombs are really heavy for their size you don't need a cavernous fuselage to carry them.

It was a long range, VERY high speed high altitude bomber that was designed to carry nukes deep into Russia while being faster than the fighters that could have defended against it. Payload was sacrificed for speed, but it still packed a pretty good wallop.
