Wow. Two cranes' booms broke, and the third one toppled.

Anchorwoman is hot.

Oops...Dammit, I hate it when that happens. (but I've seen similar "OH SHIT!" accidents before.)

Her accent is fucking annoying to me...but at least it's slightly better than when I call tech support. :p

I play Call of Duty WaW and use the VOIP to impersonate an Indian male. I find her accent very helpful in my quest for perfection.

Thats what happens when you have 859 freakin bosses overseeing the operation and "running the show"

I like the ones with the purple hard hats.....

They must be "special"

I like the reporter on the scene "we dont know what has happened to the driver of the crane".....

Hey lady shut up a second a listen.... Hear that? Thats him up in the driver seat screaming GET ME THE *%#@ OUTTA HERE!!!!!!

The biggest expense in that whole accident is gonna be the loss of the cranes and beam. The loss of life is probably no big deal in such an overpopulated 3rd world country as this.

Hell, people are cheap...equipment costs money!

The only reason companies here in the US have such good safety programs is because OSHA hits them where it hurts...in the wallet...so do insurance companies.

It sure ain't because the companies actually care about the workers...

Terrifying!

We dock next to big cranes frequently and sometimes they are VERY close to our ship!

Does anyone know what kind of crane this is?

big crane

320T capacity with 80 tons of counterweights in that pic. Yes I know but what kind of crane? This equipment has a name just as as a coal shovel is different than a spade shovel. ;)

Big equipment is fascinating. I've watched excavators working at night in Freeport and used the FLIR imaging system to "see" the effects of friction by the heating of the bucket tines! :Q

That's horrible. Though in a way man's struggle to overcome and build upward was never easy.

Looks like this one:

http://www.liebherr.com/downloads/Port_Equipment_en.pdf

Looks like it's called a Harbor Mobile Crane...

http://www.processeq.net/pdf/Liebherr_LHM320.pdf

My first thought was that it was some type of luffing jib crane...and it looks like that may be the actual crane designation:
