Think this is real? Supposed leaked screen shot from Crysis2.

PC Gamer's upcoming issue is going to show first time screen shots from Crysis 2. We've seen the tech demos for what CryEngine 3 can now do for consoles, but we haven't seen much in the way of what it can do for PC. All we know is that it is a tuned up version of CryEngine2, which gave us the Original Crysis.

One thing I read is that the developers were able to take "more of an artistic direction" with the engine this time around, install of just making a tech demo of how "real" things can look.

The game will come out on PS3 and xBOX360. It just won't look as good as it does on PC. All of the CryEngine3 vids have shown how it looks on consoles, which most people thought was subpar to Crysis on PC, making people say it was a step-back. CryTek just telling people to wait for the PC screen shots.. They are starting to surface. This is apparently one of them.

To put it in perspective, here are screen shots from the old engine.. Still looks disgusting.. especially the last two.

I think I wet myself looking at that. Guess I'll be upgrading the old gaming PC in 2010.

It was to prove a point :p. The main reason I think the Crysis screenshot is fake is because there is action going on. Look at the minimap, he has enemies right next to him, why would they turn around just to snap a shot of the road? Also, he has a gun out, but you can't see it.

If you are in development mode, you can pause, remove parts of the hud, etc. I work in the Sandbox alot (cryengine editor) so taking a shot like that is totally plausabile.

Didn't know that about removing HUD stuff. So why leave the two side HUD items and remove the gun? Also, still, why turn away from the enemies to take the shot?
