I have been looking for something to drive so that I can put my mustang down for a while, while I build my 347 stroker, and do some other things to it.
Today I found, through a guy I work with, a 1979 Ford Fairmont.
It has an in-line 6 w/ a single barrell carb., Auto tranny. Plain jane though, no air or anything of that nature.
I am unsure of it being a 2/4 door or a wagon. I am supposed to go look at it sunday.
The way the guy talked it was in Very good shape, Everything is original, motor has 63,000 miles on it. Has only had 2 owners, a little old lady owned it for 60,000 miles of its life, and the person I work withs father owned it the other 3k miles. He got it from his dad when he passed away.
He told me $600 bucks. Does that sound fair, if it is indeed in good shape? I only want this for a daily driver while I work on my mustang, and a work car after that.
I tried looking up the value on Kelly Blue book but it doesnt go back that far, IDK about checking prices on old cars either.
Thanks for any help,
Josh
