Think my chickens are using biological warfare on me

We all know how smart, cunning and ruthless chickens are. Well, it seems my 1 month old chicks are getting a head start on planning my demise.

At first I thought my cat was plotting my death. To foul the cats plans I started throwing him out at night. Since the cat can not get the job done, I think the chicks are stepping up.

A couple of days ago I reached into the coop to get the chickens food bowl, and somehow cut my finger on the wire floor of the coop. Its about a 5/16 long cut that is about 1/32 wide. Now the cut is getting a little red like its getting infected.

What I think the chicks did, they knocked their food dispenser over, then moved it into a position where they knew I would reach in and scratch my finger on a piece of the wire.

There is this black jersey giant that I think is the leader. Maybe I should isolate the leader to see how the rest of the group reacts?

This Plymouth rock acts like it wants me to pet it. When I open the coop the chick runs up to me. I think its a scout trying to find my weakness.

When I look into the coop, all of the chicks run together and start making noises. They look like they are planning something.

Pics of chickens and coup!

I just cleaned out my coup (was here when I moved in 2 years ago) and am debating on getting chickens.

I don't like the idea of having to clean out eggs EVERY single day.
What happens when you go on vacation?

My cat and dog stand behind me in the kitchen in hopes of tripping me and stealing my food.

"The chickens are revolting!"
"Finally something we agree on."

I do not think that you have to collect the eggs every day. However, the hens may disagree and leave a mess for you.

But it only takes 5-10 minutes of your time for a small coop. You spend more than that waiting for the shower to warm up

Going on vacation - find a neighbor kid that you trust to not left the hens out of the coop to collect the eggs for their own use.

Chickens are the descendents of T-rex's according to biologists. As for the late Sanders of Kentucky fried Chicken fame, to some he may be a free enterprise hero, but to chickens he is Adolph Eikman.

In short this thread is for the birds.

Its for the birds until you wake up one morning and your eyes have been pecked out, whatcha gonna do then?

You think those chickens are gonna sit by and do nothing while we slaughter millions of their kind every year?

I tell you, the chickens are plotting our downfall.
