Think I want a new video card

My setup is as follows:
4200 X2 @ stock (can't OC)
3gb ram
7600gt
Windows XP (I'm not going to Vista)
19" ws monitor @ 1440x900

I'm looking for a card between $100-$140. I see an 8800GT and 3870 are probably my only options. I need somebody to sway me one way or the other. Remember, I need the best DX9 performer as I am running XP. I play COD4 and plan on picking up some more games (read: Spore) soon.

For that resolution I think a 9600 GT would be enough, and it's like $99 AMIR.

8800GT $130 AMIR from one of the better partners. Will OC very nice as well if you ever get into that.
