Yesterday I went to an Audi dealer to drive one of their remaining 2002 TT Quattro's. Wow. That car is t!ts!!! I couldn't believe how sweet that little thing was. It handles like my old Corvette but is smooth and solid like my BMW. And Quattro...wow, you could drive that thing up a wall. It's pretty snowy around here, and as we were pulling out of the lot into traffic there was some snow accumulation on the ground. I got nervous that it was going to slip but it never missed a beat. The only problem (and I mean the ONLY one) is that they don't have the color I want (Amulet red) and don't think they can get one. Plus, being a 2002 it's discounted an extra $3000 so you kind of have to take what's there. I think I'm going to go in one day this week and see about buying it.
The strangest thing about the whole experience was the dealership. The sales guy was very lethargic about the whole thing. I basically had to take him by the hand for everything (driving the car, talking about financing, etc.). At one time I actually said "I want to buy that car". His response? "Umm, ok...what do you want me to do?" I mean, it's one thing to be hands off, but when the customer says "I am ready to buy that car from you" don't they usually snap to attention a little more?
