They have some decent deals on a couple things I wouldn't mind picking up. My savings would be about $150 on the things I want. I figure if I can get in and out in under an hour...it would be worth it.

Should I give it a try?

Yup! HD, Walmart, and most department stores will not only be busy, but stupid busy as defined by the clientele that will show up.

In fact, some dumbasses are probably already heading out to line up.

I figured Walmart, Kohls and those kind of stores would be. You really think Home Depot is in the same category?

Most likely. Lowes will probably be worse since they basically cater to the casual shopper more than they do to people that actually make things out of materials and hardware.

The stuff HD has on sale, though, is mostly consumer crap and will certainly draw a crowd. I bet a lot of people are there just for the sale on Christmas decorations.

Last year they had an awesome 8 foot tree for twenty bucks. Built-in lights even.
I can only imagine the insanity this year.

Really? I didn't see much of anything in this morning's HD After Thanksgiving sale ad.

However, YES, I'm sure they will be stupid busy...as will most everywhere else as people get stupid trying to save a couple of bucks on stuff...

Yes, Home Depot will be good for shopping. They are not busy like other shopping places on Black Friday. They wish they were but NEVER are.

How do I know? I worked there for over 4 years, during 4 Thanksgiving weekends. They staffed it like it was supposed to be a Wal Mart, but it was usually extremely light traffic.

What time in the "morning" were you planning on getting to HD? I ask because about 5 years ago I gave up on BF "Doorbuster" deals (they just are not worth it IMHO) and now I wake up late (about 0800), get cleaned up and make a leisurely circuit of Target, Sears, Lowes, Staples and HD ... all in about an hour and AFTER the crazies have long gone.

Every two years I walk into HD on BF and buy one of those Rigid shop vacs for less than $30 ($20 this year) and then walk out.

HD is an awesome place for black friday. They always have a full stock of their goodies in bins in the front aisle even 5-6 hours after opening. I have picked up lots of stuff over the years.

The shop vac was another thing I wanted to grab.

I dunno...I was figuring on getting up around 5. I think they open at 6.

The shop vac is good, as always. I usually pick up the dremel kits and drill bits, as well. Screwdriver kits are good, too, do they have any this year? I usually stick a few all over the place in case i need some. :D

You dont need to be there that early. this is usually a 3rd or 4th round hit for me.

Yep...they have the dremels this year. There are some sweet flashlight sets that I want to grab too.

I have never really gone out on BF before...I've always worked it. I went once when Gamecubes first came out. How many years ago was that?

42,000, I think ;).

Small LED flashlights with batteries? GET THEM! I got those last year, awesome. I have them everywhere, they are great, better than the more expensive LEDs I have gotten before

I hit up Lowe's sometimes on BF and it's pretty empty in the morning. I assume Home Depot even more so because Lowe's has an actual BF sale.

I worked on the night crew last year at a low income home depot. I heard the line was only about 20-30ft long at the time of opening. I remember busting my ass setting dept 25 (hardware) black fri items in the raceway. when I got back, the majority of it was still there, lol. you suck home depot. (grabs balls)

I went in this morning and it was light. Not too many people at 8 am. Got some kickass flash lights for dirt cheap. If I had wanted to I could have gotten some nice cordless tool sets like Dewalt, Ryobi and others. Some has coupons for a free battery.

BUT, many other things had clearly been marked up in advance. And there were no cheap plastic trees like last year.
