What good is that? OP didn't even link to the auction.

Maybe oldsmoboat included his IP address, so ebay can cross check that.

he's using the same email address in his profile on ebay, just fyi. :)

edit: doh, looks like he's been busted already.

If your mission was to set out and make us laugh at your expense, you've certainly succeeded.

eh. he did bid on an item sold by a guy named haggis in the UK, and the haggis person did leave feedback saying that soviet bid by accident but sorted out the fees (positive feedback at that).

Why don't we just flag all his ebay auctions, and out bid him. When he lists his items, we win them, don't pay, and destroy his feedback? That would totally shut him up.

Rofl. The OP is just so amazingly dumb... I mean Ebay is not a big game. If you are going to bid, take responsibility for that bid. Don't just "play dead" and not pay up. God, why did he even post this absolute stupidity.

Well, i classify this as a learning experience :)

just curious... how old are you?

I'd go out on a limb and guess Soviet779 is 26...a bit immature for that age I might add.

Where the hell did 26 come from??!

Thank you for the update. Fortunately, soviet779 is not talking about us cause he heasn't even had the courtesy to get in contact with us to tell us why he has not paid. We do have an idea though...on the same day he purchased a motherboard that was near to the same to the one he purchased from us. How wishi washy is that for a buyer? Oh well what can one do!!!!
busted. so he bid on 2 auctions thinking he would win one, and won both.
So he even lied about lying? I mean that he actually intentionally bid on the item and not by accident. Soviet, why so lame?
No thats a different matter and its being sorted :)

Yeah, let's lower ourselves to his level and completely discredit ourselves! That'll show'em!

I bet this is someone who has lied his way through life, piling up new lies on the old. And up until now, has gotten away with it.

I hope you learn from this, while the consequences are minor.

I always wondered what would happen to people who won E-bay bids and didn't follow through.

 They post their experiences on ATOT and get flamed relentlessly for days on end.

Let this be a lesson to you! :)

If ebay wants to follow through, they can ask AT for contact information from the OP to match against their records. Other agencies have done stuff like that, but I doubt ebay would go to such great lengths.

why should AT give ebay any info ? in fact it would be quite stupid of them to give any info to anyone other then under court order. In any case, AT doesn't really verify contact info like ebay does. This thread is useless to ebay - anyway they have a regular procedure to deal with this stuff - it's just a warning.

Ebay is a scumbag fee inflating monopoly, and technologically primitive and pathetic. That's what happens when there is no comptetition.

In the same way that bidders can change their mind and not pay, sellers can also screw buyer and tell them the item is not really available (happened to me) and the only recourse is to leave bad feedback (there is no wearning). Ebay goes all out to help sellers and screw buyers, but in fact buyer need more protection because they pay first. So I don't feel bad if a seller (=low lives which buy all the dell/fry's deals and re-sell illegally) get screwed once in a while.
