some of the atoms in your body were once in stars.

Proof?

stars formed all the atoms in the universe, except hydrogen, if my memory serves me correctly.

See its things like this that make it so hard to believe in religion? I guess thats why its called faith though? :shrug;

what? it's not philosophy, it's science. do you know how the heavier elements of the universe were formed? it's not questionable, it's fact.

But when you're saying "think about it" you're implicitly asking for the ramificatins of your statement.

i'm just saying think about it because it's mind-blowing. maybe it wouldn't be too hard to take our minds out of the daily routine for one second.

your memory != proof

Think about it.

My memory is not proof, this is true, but the only thing that could produce the elements according to the most substantial theory we have now points to stars.

The Big Bang. What created the Big Bang?...

if you lean against a wall long enough at some point between now and infinity your atoms and the wall's atoms will align and you fall right through the wall.

but then again maybe you'll go half way, get stuck and die. i guess you can fall through the earth too.

The Big Bang. What created the Big Bang?...
2 possibilities as far as I'm concerned:
1) There was no previous universe, therefore it was created and its creation was the big bang. (If you're a religous person this is where God comes in.)
2) The big bang was the result of an old universe collapsing. (collapsed than expanded again. perhaps this process has gone on forever.)

#2 only really works if the universe is closed. However evidence seems to show that the universe is open and will forever expand. If that's that case i'm not sure what could cause the universe to collapse, if anything. still, #2 makes the most sense to me since it is easier to believe that the universe has always been here than it is to believe that it was created out of nothing.
