Things you used to think when you were little...

I've been reading a post on another forum and I used to think some of the same things:

I used to think that:
I was the only one in the world, everyone else were just like robots that only existed when I was around.

"a couple" meant any small number under 5.

(again relating to the first one) the people on TV could see me. I remember watching The Price is Right and smiling at the ladies and they would smile back. 🙂

One of my teachers used to always give me an "attaboy". He'd say "You deserve an attaboy", and then he'd pat me on the back. I was mad because he never gave me anything.

essay was spelled SA

actually up until today I thought that blood in your veins is blue.

I can't think of anymore right now.

I used to think 'Family Ties' the show and 'The Brady Bunch' were actual families, and I was really confused when there was a show where they had interviews with all the actors after the show.

I used to think that the signs that say " Speed Monitered By Radar" were completely false because I never saw one of those huge NASA type radar dishes anywhere close to the were the signs were posted.

Life is fair.

If you're good, good things will happen to you.

Religious people are always good people.

I could go on, but I wont.

I figured the expression "up and at 'em" had something to do with when we bombed Hiroshima, since I was hearing it as "up and atom."

The being promoted (like from first grade to second grade) involved a lawn mower, possibly riding it.

Pro - means forward
Mow - to cut the grass
Moted - past tense of mow 🙂

When I got to school I was disappointed.

When I was about 6 I had this immense fear of dying. It lasted about one night and I forgot about it in the morning.

I also wanted to grow up to be a Ninja Turtle.. or Batman. Fvck the moon and fighting indians, I wanna be Batman!

I just remembered another one. I used to think that the babies sex was determined by which parent put in more effort during sex.

That all adults got along unlike kids. Boy was I in for a big surprise, not much different than when you are a kid.

I thought milk was cow piss.
I thought approximately meant "exactly".
I thought that popsicles had bones, those little straight lines that appear after you take a bite (someone lied to me).
I believed the gum one and the watermellon one.
I thought "a few" was two (I used to rhyme it as proof) and a couple was at least 8.
I thought God was real...
and a bunch of other ones courtesy of my macho wannabee dad:
That he could kick anyone's butt and was totally dangerous (he's quite frail).
That hunting and guns were cool.
When my dad shaved off the beard he had my ENTIRE LIFE I thought he was someone else.
I was VERY confused about sex until I stole an 'S' encyclopedia, and even then I thought it was a motionless act...
I thought I came from my mommies tummy.
I thought I could become a scientist.
I thought stepping on jellyfish could do serious damage, like landmines.

My parents love me.

There is such a thing as love.

Etc.

Well thank you, Captain Obvious!

Ok . . . lets see . . .

I used to watch "Family Matters" and I thought the show was just a regular family with cameras in their house, so I'd go around my house looking for the cameras 😛

I thought the "sixth sense" was "thinking"

We were all young and weird
