Several years ago I built a NICE and EXPENSIVE front wheel for my mountain bike. It had a Chris King front hub (read $$$$), a Velocity synergy front rim, alloy nipples and it was radial laced. Then before I ever got a chance to ride on it, some lowlife scumbag stole it out of the back of my car!

Well, since I manage a bike shop, I fantasized someone bringing in a bike one day with MY wheel on it, though I figured I had about as much chance of that happening as I did of winning the lotto.

So today a guy comes in to see about getting his bike fixed up, he had just gotten IT back after IT was stolen, and low and behold, there on the front of this guys bike is MY WHEEL! But NOW I have to deal HIM out of it. He seems pretty understanding though, so hopefully he won't try and take me to the cleaners over MY stolen property...

The police arrested some skank riding it, ran the serial number and found it was stolen. So he got his bike back, + my wheel....

Just being the devil's advocate here: Why should he sell it to you? You can't really prove it was yours, can you? I know I'd be hesitant to believe you.

I hope you can work out a deal though, alloy nipples and all
