A guy who owns a garage up in Athens, GA wants $250 for it. It runs a friend rode it around for a bit. It needs a new battery and possibly a new turn signal switch.

I'v been looking for something small that I don't need a licence / insurance to get to class / work on campus.

What should I look for on these things? It has 1,900 miles on it.

Thanks!

The wires are hanging out because it's missing the Tomos cover

Why not a <50cc scooter? That company seems to offer one with the same engine. Seems a little more practical considering the functionality you are looking for.

For $250 it would probably suit your needs just fine. My friend owned a small scooter(from PepBoys) which she used around campus @ UGA and she loved it. However it had trouble with some of the hills around here. I haven't spent much time in the Atl but from what I've seen the hill thing probably won't be an issue. All the football players use Yamaha Zumas, they seem to handle extra weight/hills better if it is an issue.

<In Athens btw

Bought it!

Turns out the owner before me drilled holes in it's muffler. I guess for more power? But it's way too loud. Looks like I need a new muffler

I'm sure anyone with basic welding skills could patch the holes though it may look a little odd.

Yeah I didn't think it was too much trouble. I did hear that the moped shop near north campus (UGA) has an after market one for $50.

There is one right up the street from me on Baxter, might be the one you are talking about. They seem to do good business. Afaik the wife runs the moped shop and the husband runs the Kawasaki dealership in town.

Oh wow that's cool. I'v only been up to Athens a couple of times. I good friend just got a house 500 ft from the 40 watt. So I'll be up a lot more.

We should do an AT Athens meet up.

Fucking bullshit. Now I need to figure out how to patch the hole.

Maybe some JB Weld.....that stuff is heat resistant to 1600F, so should be unaffected by a muffler's heat.

It'd look bad, but would do the job well enough.
