Things to do while in Los Angeles...

Hey everyone!

Going to be in a LA for a week in April. Will be staying in West Hollywood and Beverly Hills part of the time, and then in Long Beach for the remainder of the trip. I've looked up the "standard" tourist things to do, but wonder if anyone might have suggestions for family things to do that are off the beaten path. Been through LAX several times but have never ventured outside the airport. This will be our first visit so I'm looking forward to any suggestions ya'll may have as to what to see and do.

Also, if anyone has any areas that I should definitely avoid then please let me know about those as well! 🙂

Thanks!
Tom

I grew up in San Marino, if you like libraries, the huntiungton is one of the best, i have a lot of fond memories of that place.

Go out dressed like well-bread white couple with lots of money and walk around Inglewood at 10:30pm.

My girlfriend and I made that mistake by accident. I posted about it after our vacation and was told that people here drive around that neighborhood during the DAY to avoid it. :Q *sh|ts pants*

I would love to go to the bars.... if i am only 21.

Been to in and out already, i think it's kinda overrated.
I can see the jack in the box ultimate bacon double cheeseburger owning in and out's double cheeseburger.

Anyone has a Disneyland season pass to spare?
$47 for a one day one park is pretty expensive.

Go to Venice Beach and Santa Monica Pier. Also, try out Magic Mountain. I'm not sure if they are open now, but that amusement park has a lot of kick ass rides. 🙂
