Things to do in San Jose, CA?

I have an interview and I am flying in on December 10th that afternoon/evening. My interview is in the morning on the 11th and because there is not a direct flight back to Texas where I am at currently that night, they allowed me to stay an extra night in the hotel and my flight is in the morning on the 12th.

Anybody want to hang out Thursday, December 11th? I've never been to that area. I could possibly hang out that night before also but I'm not sure when I'll actually be able to check into the hotel that day (I'm hoping I'll be able to check in around 2 or 3pm ish so I can have a long period to rest for the interview).

Thanks in advanced! I'll buy at least one round I suppose but I don't drink beer. Long island iced tea's for me please! 😀

Who ever is down just shoot me a PM with your phone numbers and I'll call you when I get there. I want to have something to do there...

Are you going to have a car? I am not into the nightlife anymore, so someone else will have to help you there, plenty of bars around:

In San Jose itself:
The Tech museum http://www.thetech.org/
Rosicrucian Egyptian museum http://www.egyptianmuseum.org/

In Mountain View:
Computer History Museum http://www.computerhistory.org/

Personally I think SF is nothing special and not worth the drive

Yes, I'll have a rental car for the whole time. I called my cousin and I am going to probably hang out with her on the 11th, but the 10th I arrive at 1pm with a 3pm hotel check in so I'm free that whole night. (Wednesday)

EDIT: My cousin lives in Sacramento so I might "not" travel to visit since it's 2 hours away and I'm in a rental. Just thought about that...

night life is kinda lame
enjoy the weather during the day

if youre up for a day trip theres lots of <3 hour diversions

Considering I'll be there at 1pm Wednesday afternoon and have nothing to do after I check into the hotel, that might be a venue worth traveling...

Got any ideas?

SOUTH.

drive down to Santa Cruz (real fun curvy roads), and continue south on the 1/PCH around Monterey Bay... see pebble beach, carmel, etc etc

on the way back up you can take 101 through gilroy for a whiff of the garlic

I'd totally meet up in Santa Cruz or Monterey. You should PM me if you are coming to either place.

Defiantly this, It is a beautiful trip and the weather is going to be perfect this weekend

tech museum is cool if you've never been there (as I saw someone above posted)
The food in the area is pretty good

There's NOTHING to do in San Jose.

Instead, head to Stockton or Fresno for kicks!

Santana Row - you can people watch, have a drink, get some food.

Boswells - dive bar w/ live music.

Tech Museum - the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit is there through the first week of Jan.

House of Genji - good Teppan-Yaki place.

Just in case you do decide to have a beer - Gordon Biersch or Teskes Germania (they both serve liters)

SF - hit or miss for some people. Better if you have an agenda and know what you want to see.

Last bump until tomorrow. I'm going to hang out with my cousin Thursday night but if anybody is around the San Jose, CA area tomorrow after 3pm-ish hit me up via PM if you want to go grab a drink somewhere and I'll give you my phone #. First round on me. (Read: FIRST round at FIRST spot, not first round per spot)
