Things to do in Paris .

Damn...hard to pick just a few.

Eiffel tower.

Louvre.

Versailles.

Notre Dame.

Various cemetaries.

Day trip via TGV to Beaune (burgundy wine region)
 
One other thing to do: Eat. A lot. There are more good restaurants in Paris than you can shake a stick at. Get a "Let's Go" guide and try some of the medium-pricy places here and there. Just don't expect the service to crawl all over you every three minutes asking "Is everything okay???" like they do here in the states. They'll pretty much leave you alone to eat, drink, and chat for as long as you wish.

and to add to the list, if you're into impressionist paintings, definitely go to the Musee d'Orsay. It's across the Seine from the Louvre.

I once passed out on the biggest fountain in the courtyard area above the louvre. I recommend that as the mist really puts you to sleep well.
 
things i want to do whenever i get a chance to go there:

1. eiffel tower
2. eat
3. l'arc de triomphe
4. eat
5. louvre
6. versailles
7. wine country
8. visit castles
9. just meander down the various rues in paris
10. i want to visit normandy and see the beach for some reason.

and of course, eat.

pick up some of those tourist guides... if you're staying long enough explore france! my dream would be to spend a month in europe, spend a week in london, visit the castles, buckingham palace, go on the harry potter tour, then go to france, visit, hop on a train to italy, to rome, florence, venice, then to switzerland so my bf can get his chocolate and look at their watches and then i guess back to wherever i was flying out of.

and i still wouldn't have seen it all. 🙁
