Can anyone recommend things to do in the Little Rock area? Things to see, places to eat, etc? I'm staying there for 3 full days and will have a car if there is something an hour or two outside of Little Rock that is worth doing/seeing.

Thanks!

Leave as quickly as possible...I have to visit Bentonville once every couple months and it's boring as hell, Little Rock isn't much better...personally I use a fifth of Captain Morgan's and a two liter to get me through my visits to AR

that said the lakes are awesome, though from the sounds of it you won't have the time to enjoy them.

Sadly there really isn't much to do in Little Rock, I'd suggest the Rivermarket area, its pretty nice, there is a Boscos down there thats pretty nice, there is also the flying fish and the flying saucer. The Clinton library is also down in that area, it kindof looks like a giant trailer IMO, I've never been there though as I wasn't a fan.

Also if you like to hike, there is Pinnacle mountain, thats pretty nice, it may not be very impressive if you are from a place that has mountains. http://www.arkansasstateparks.com/pinnaclemountain/

If you don't mind driving about an hour there is also Petit Jean State Park that is much nicer. http://www.petitjeanstatepark.com/

I visited a friend in Hot Springs, who tells me there's not much to do in LR. She forgot she had brass knuckles in her purse and made it into the Clinton museum, hehe.

My folks lived there for two years and my dad used to play jazz (Monday nights, I believe, but double check) at a bar called The Afterthought. If you drop in, Dave is the drummer and a super nice guy.

USS Razorback - WW2 era sub you can tour.

Central High School National Site. They have interactive videos in the park building. Go to the end of the building closest to the street/school. As you watch the videos, you can look outside and see where history took place.

Old State House Museum

Historic Arkansas Museum

MacArthur Museum

The Riverfront area is nice. If you are in that area, you can take the trolley or drive to North Little Rock and the Argenta district. Stop by the Argenta Market for a bite to eat. The Old Mill is also in N.L.R featured in Gone with the Wind

I didn't care for the Clinton Library, if you do go, don't eat in the downstairs cafe, too expensive.

If you want something different to eat, check out Cafe Bossa Nova. I liked it

I was in Little Rock for almost 9 months for work. Quite a few of my coworkers frequent Sticky Fingerz, a bar with live musical performances. Then there is Electric Cowboy, if you want to experience a night club with a mechanical bull.

I live in Little Rock. What kinds of things are you looking for? Food, nightlife, museums, movies, shopping???? PM me if you have any specific questions and I'll try to answer them for you.

Thanks all for the suggestions. I've looked at all the "Things To Do" websites, but was curious if locals had more insight than the websites. Mainly looking for things to do during the day (definitely will check out Pinnacle Mountain, I'm a big fan of taking pictures of cool scenary and hiking) and places I should hit up to eat (I watched the Little Rock Man vs Food episode :) )

I love Little Rock! Good fishing and swimming. Had fun going shooting. Hot women in dresses willing to talk to strangers. Polite, courteous people. Good food. The only place I've ever had a breakfast served in courses. :)

If you like BBQ - hit up Whole Hog BBQ on Cantrell. If you make it to Hot Springs, you should check out Bathhouse Row, McClards BBQ, and if you are so inclined drop some coin on the "games of chance" at Oaklawn.
