This weekend? Friday night...TRINITY RIVER FEST! Last year they said they had 300K people there, it should be a bit smaller this year but still....that's hella crazy.

You'll need to be taking the rails to get there though, I don't think i'd want to be in a car after that got out.

Dallas Museums are good. Their modern art museum kicks ass.

Lower Greenville is a great place for drinks/music

There is a Dave and Busters.

WEst End is cool too.

Sweet! Thanks for all of the help!

Where are you staying?

Staying at a hotel called "La Meridien". I've never stayed at this place, but it is 4*. Got it for cheap from Priceline ($35 a night) so I'm not expecting much. heh.

If you're downtown on foot, cross the street only at the corner and only when the light is green. I got nabbed by a cop for crossing the street against the light and I think the only reason I got out of a ticket is that I'm from Pittsburgh where jaywalking is rampant. In fact, he asked me if I was from Pittsburgh. I guess he figured if I was stupid enough to cross against the light directly in front of a cop, I must not realize it was a bad thing.

Go to Fort Worth. It isn't just for cowboys and you'll have a better time. Fort Worth has some of the best museums in the southwest (Amon G. Carter, Kimbal Art Museum (which has a large egyption exhibit going on right now), Modern Art museum, and the Science Museum with omni theater). The Fort Worth Zoo was rated in the top 10 in the country. I liked it better than the San Diego zoo because you could actually see the animals awake. Downtown Fort Worth has really good night time activities. The Sundance Square area has several night clubs and restaurants, and movie theatres. If you want cowboy stuff, go to the northside to the stockyards where you have Billy Bobs and several other bars, restaurants, western themed shops, Steam locomotive rides, etc. If you want to know more, just pm me.

Edit: Oh and I forgot to mention the Botanical Gardens which will also be doing a fireworks display synchronized to music, and the water gardens (famous for being filmed in Logans Run).

the best thing to do in Dallas is to drive to Austin

And then take a detour to San Antonio

And do what in San Antonio??? Other than the Riverwalk, which is only fun once, there is NOTHING.

The only thing "to do" in Austin are UT chicks.
