• An improving economy
• A soaring stock market
• Americans getting health insurance
• Mention of "solar power"
• Tax cuts for working families (A tax cut Republicans don't like?)
• Affordable childcare
• Tax cuts for families with children (Another one?)
• Equal pay for women
• "America has put more people back to work than Europe, Japan, and all advanced economies combined."
• A "free and open internet"
• Rewarding companies that "invest in America" (C'mon, really?)
• "Working Americans"
• A resolution for the use of the force against ISIL
• "Trying something new" with Cuba
• Acknowledging that climate change exists
• Prohibiting Torture
• Not persecuting "people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender."
• Closing Gitmo
• Making "voting easier for every single American"

What the hell is wrong with you Republicans?
Why the hell would anybody vote for Republicans?

Why the hell would anyone decide who to vote for based on clapping during the state of the union?

Oh right, because it precludes analysis and "thinking". Those two enemies of the average person's political ego.

This breed of "hate every single thing Obama is for" conservative is a blight upon the world. Now, because I typed that, I of course gobble Obama cock.

Republicans love "America" the Utopian mental construct, not the country it is and the people who live in it.

So now we're keeping applause score. Does it count more towards a win than best hair or most sincere smile?

It doesn't matter, the clapping.
Obama's one dig won the night.
Reminding republicans he had won the election for both of his terms.
Bing Bam Boom.
Now redies, just sit the "F" down and shut the "F" up.

And I loved the shots Obama gave to old John McCain.
About leading wisely instead of knee jerking, saber rattling, war rhetoric.
Bing Bam Boom, again :D

Those are the best "untruths" they could come up with? That practically qualifies as sainthood as politicians go. Let's look at them:

• Obama made the inflated claim that "more than half of manufacturing executives have said they're actively looking to bring jobs back from China." A survey showed most "expressed interest" in it, but are not "actively looking" at doing it.
Okay, exaggeration. Let's focus on the negative semantics here instead of the positive aspect that most express interest in it, which is better than nothing or the opposite.

• Obama exaggerated when he said the U.S. is "the only advanced country on Earth that doesn't guarantee paid sick leave." Canada and Japan also don't mandate paid short-term sick leave, which is what Obama is seeking for the U.S.
Again, exaggeration, but do these two countries really change the pig picture message here? Are Canada and Japan shining examples of great economies?

• The president boasted that the U.S. has gained 11 million private sector jobs in five years. Yes, but that ignores his first 13 months in office and a net loss of public sector jobs. Total employment growth during his time in office is about 6.4 million.
So...not a lie at all. He didn't claim that total employment growth during his time in office was 11 million, he specifically said we gained 11 million jobs in the last 5 years because that is the reality. Does anyone think that any President or Congress can turn the job market around in less than 13 months?

• Obama also boasted that "more of our people are insured than ever before." But that's based on an administration analysis that compares the second quarter of 2014 to years past. We don't have the full 2014 federal numbers yet.
The data we do have suggests that this statement is likely to be true, but since all the data is not in let's pretend that once it is in it will be significantly different than the data we have...

Because most of those things are obtained by means that the republican part does not agree with.

Clapping at "improved communication" is BS. Clapping for the invention of the telephone is great. One is a vague idea while the other is reality. Clap for the causes, not the effects.

clapping is such an odd way of expressing yourself...when you really think about it.

The improving economy must be the reason interest rates are falling instead of rising.

They made faces, they didn't clap......Oh the humanity!!!!

Funny how it wasn't an issue when the Democrats did the same thing during Bush's Presidency.

did you see the clip I played of Michele? Where is the outrage?

Dems will do anything to try to be "bullied" when the fact is they are the bullies. Obama calling Boehner and the rest of the republicans terrorists? That's just fine. But if they don't worship him? Its an outrage.

Just more left wing idiocy.

Because most of those things benefit the common American. And, the common American contains some,.. 'undesirables'.

It's no secret - conservatives LOVE a big centralized entity overseeing everything in your lives.

What they do not love, is a big centralized entity that oversees everyone (including conservatives) and benefits everyone.

The US government can let anyone in. And, that anyone can do something that is contrary to a conservative's "ideals". Then all sorts of posturing and lies are spewed out about that something;
- it's anti-American
- it's socialism
- it's a burden on the rest of us
- it's reverse-racism
- it's in violation of State's Rights
- it's an invasion of privacy

Yet,.. none of these are brought up when conservative agendas are pushed, through the SAME government they claim need not be involved, and is just as 'intrusive'!!

Nice try RG but the fact remains that you don't even know what Boehner was saying when she rolled her eyes. On top of that, it isn't like she is an elected official or public servant.

Well then, for more approving applause from the right, Obama should have gotten in line with what the Repubs truly want and have been incessantly going after for decades, like more and much bigger tax cuts for the rich while raising taxes on everyone else, and getting rid of all regulations that prevent big business from jacking, poisoning and deceiving the public for much more fun and profit, and let's not forget about allowing much more money flowing into campaign financing, and more laws that restrict suppress and disenfranchise poor voters and even more laws that allow corporations to dictate terms above and beyond the scope of public scrutiny and on and on and on.

Now that should have gotten the Repubs off their asses and clapping themselves silly, shouldn't it have?

Yep. And he refuses to call people who murder for insulting their prophet, murder women and children for not converting to their religion, kidnapping girls and forcing into marriage or selling them as sex slaves terrorists.

Why should anyone applaud a warped egomaniac?

Even funnier, the GOP is now posturing as if they are against wealth inequality. They think they can combat wealth inequality without impacting the already wealthy. Good plan guys, I'm sure your well-informed base will gobble that shit up.

Then why is she messing with kids lunches?

Sorry bub. Your argument might be valid if she didn't try to influence people who are elected and servants.
