Yes, things really are not that bad to the degree where the media and press play everything up as if it were the end of the world.

So what are the problems?

Well, there was an attack in Benghazi.
But that wasn’t new. It has happened before during all previous administrations.
From time to time, it happens.
No country can stop every terrorist attach.
Just ask Israel about that.

The VA was screwed up.
But thats nothing new.
Most Veterans already knew the VA was the last place they wanted to go for health care.
Vets knew the VA was out dated.
Lacking modern technology.
Considering the volume of wounded now being treated, the VA is functioning as wel as expected.

Then, we have some illegals coming into America.
That is nothing new.
Reagan gave blanket amnesty to his illegals problem.
Then he fired all the are traffic controllers.
Illegals wanting to come to America is nothing new.
Just ask any Native American Indian about that.

Then we have the trouble over in Iraq.
Surely that is nothing new.
War had been the norm in the oil rich countries since Ford invented the automobile.
We are not on the ground in Iraq, at least for now.
Not to the extent we were during the Bush years.
It would be nice if everyone just got along and lived happily together, but they never have and never will.
Especially over in Iraq.
Nothing new over there to concern us, that much.
Truly nothing to lose any sleep over.

Then we have our political parties fighting.
Republicans suing a president.
Blacks electing republicans.
Rejected tea party candidates acting all uppity.
Whats new about that?
Since when have two political parties gotten along?
Nothing new to that.

No, things really aren’t that bad.

Maybe American’s are just, bored?
Maybe we can’t tell a good thing any longer?
After all...
Gays are getting married.
Rants against Blacks will get you fired.
Texting your junk will get you fired.
Junk? Sadly, getting smaller.
But the good? Viagra Coupon‎s.
Cell phones are getting better, and bigger.
Lots of new fancy cars on the roads.
People with good jobs buying new fancy cars.
New home sales are flowing along.
More people can get healthcare. And have.
When the US Supreme Court make bad decisions, people realize that.
No major oil spills of late.
The gubernment hasn’t taken away the guns.
Hillary has a new book.

No, things really aren’t that bad.
Maybe its just… us?

Moved from OT.

There's a wee bit of blue-gray space between ATOT and P&N. It is sad that this poem didn't fall into that void.

Dear OverVolt,

Maybe things will get better when your consciousness changes from one of bitterness based on your self contempt for the weaknesses of others, your substitute for real self respect that you are among the moral performers who have taken responsibility for your life, basically just ac accident of your personal history since we are all the sane, to compassion for the massive collateral damage we face as a human population from our collective self hate.

You are like a potato that is half baked, properly self motivated, but full of ego need, feelings of inferiority you need to placate, by an unhealthy need to hold others in contempt, a need that goes unchallenged for reasons you are motivated not to comprehend.

The cure for all of this Israel self respect and the means by which that can be had are not to increase the contempt we feel for the normally damaged and the weak.
There are answers to these problems because one of the conditions of self loving people is social responsibility. It's natural for folk who are inwardly happy.

Ask them indeed. Worked out really well for them.

Obama tried to fix the problem of Veteran health care with anew head of VA that instituted an incentive program to improve care. Too bad it worked out like "No Child Left Behind" by administration cooking the books for their own profit.

The ego need won't ever be fulfilled heh :p

The id has made the ego its bitch essentially.

And the superego was consequently pummeled into submission by the id ego alliance.

Where did you get this chain email? It also seems void about the president being judge and executioner against American citizens abroad.

Rationalizations are endless when they serve to shield the ego. They turn the brain into an ego addict sock puppet. Look at poor Londo there. One hint of his shallowness and shit shoots out his ass. He feels intimidated because he hides his feeling of worthlessness, but reveals them by a need to attack me.

If your stupid ego weren't involved in protection itself from the obviousness of it's immaturity, you might have noticed I posted nothing in support of the OP other than to comment on the unnecessary negativity of another poster for whom I felt sympathy. His negativity causes an unhealthy mental attitude he really doesn't need and would be better off without. Naturally, you don't like the idea that somebody might get better, that healthy ideas are threatening to your defenses.

My first post was in response to the OP and not an attack on you.

The fact that I hate myself makes me take everything personal. It's what happens when one has an absurd ego. I must say though in some attempt to rationalize this away, that the form of my mentation seem to draw just such criticism. I claim the right of a whipped dog to cringe at the sight of a stick. I should also be out seeing the sights, too, on this now Sacramento Calif capital vacation, but I' happy here resting in bed. Going to see if I can finds good scimitar novel on line. Have fun.
