I'm currently working in a hospital, and one of the tasks done is to stamp "confidential" on sealed letters before sending them to the intended individual recipients. When I asked my coworkers is there a really a point to this extra step they said it was for privacy, but when I rebutted that no privacy invader is going to care for such nonsense their minds just blanked out as if they met an real extraterrestial.

How about mailing biological samples to the doctor with the envelope they gave you rather than just walking it down to their lab 2 blocks away?

Giant international companies that won't cover your warranty in different parts of the world. So you have to mail the item to the other side of the planet rather than go to their local office 10 minutes away? Then when you try to mail in the item for warranty service they refer you to an online form that won't recognize international addresses. Therefore if you buy something from them your warranty is void if you move overseas unless you have them mail the item to a freight forwarder.

Fruit loops are made differently in Europe. So is Skippy peanut butter. Smooth skippy over here is what we call chunky in the States. WTF?! In order to get the real thing I have to buy it at a special store that imports it directly and they have to put a giant sticker on the item as if normal Fruit Loops and Skippy are toxic waste.

McDonalds is edible in Sweden but makes me get violently ill in the US for 2 days.

Web forms that still demand a home telephone number.

Gypsies that would rather go to the other side of Europe to sit out in the freezing cold outside a subway station day in and day out with a paper cup begging for money than get a job.

Confidential is for good faith... so that someone who randomly gets it won't try to open it to find out what's in it. Why lock your front door if a burglar can just break a window?

Food is produced by local factories. The way they manage it can be different. Food regulations are different also. Same with McDonalds. Supplies, workers, etc.

And Gypsies just don't know what it means to work.

You obviously underestimate the biometric scanning ink that is used.

The fact that it actually says "confidential" eliminates any chance of the person who gets caught looking at it claiming ignorance to its confidentiality.

Better question is why you have to stamp these. Why not just change the form to have it printed wherever you normally stamp them?

Sorry if this now makes you unemployed.
