Both have been said before,

Beer.... cheap macro lager = boring
good IPA, stout, or belgian strong ale = mmmmmmmmmmmm

Coffee .... cheap preground stale robusto blend = yech
fresh sumatra beans.... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Anyhow, maple syrup is the best kind of syrup, obviously, but, I don't think non-maple tasting syrups are "fake" (I do think imitation maple syrup, or maple syrups with only 10% actual maple are "fake though.)

That would be like saying that tea is fake coffee, when in fact, tea is not at all coffee...
