Things not to do with a laptop...

Because the senior citizen's lobby is afraid of their incompetent brethren being ripped off by extended warranties. So of course the logical answer is to ban them. Duh!

Don't step on it.
Not from personal experience, but one of my friends stepped on his and broke his monitor. While it made for cool effects, especially while abusing soju, he could only really use it when connected to a monitor, kind of defeating the purpose.

Don't put any weight on the LCD. For that matter, make sure your bookbag stays upright if you are going to carry it in your bookbag and make sure there is room in the bag.





Don't drink with your laptop, don't use it as a dinner plate, and especially don't hit someone with it unless you are absolutely sure you can afford to pay the legal bills

I think the same as the GBA goes for laptops as well.

don't put it on your desk, with a speaker precariously perched on the shelf above it, and then ask a friend to move a mattress which bumps into the shelf, knocking the speaker onto your laptop and breaking the LCD

Also, if you have a backpack or other non-laptop bag that you carry around already, I strongly recommend an Eagle Creek laptop case that will protect it in any bag without adding much bulk or weight.
