I was changing the oil at work once and the idiot that did it prior to me put hte oil nut on as tight as possible. To get leverage, I went and grabbed a larg wrench, to put the circle part around the handle of the socket wrench, thus makign the handle twice as long.

Anyways, in a rush, goijng back under the truck, I managed to loosen the bolt and drain the wrong fluid. I drained the oil for the differential oil in the front end. ooops. Boss wasn't to happy. Local shop had some a mile away though, so it was remedied quite easily, but still, I am a jacka$$.

"If it jams, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacement anyways"

I have an '02 Dakota, but I still consider getting a '78 GMC 4x4 like my dad used to have. You always worry less about beater trucks being left in parking lots. And they had REAL bumpers!

No matter what car or model or how popular, when taking apart a complicated structure like the steering column the exploded view in the manual will not look like the one you are working on.
