so i have decided to get the sonata.. i am just waiting until the Fry's bring out their crazy deal on it.

anyhow, by switching to Sonata, there will be no more fun with the case...

i guess i can't afford everything with the little money i have..

i am just trying to comfort myself by saying "no one's going to see your computer anywayz..." to myself.

Why not wait for sonata II ?
Antec SuperLanBoy is pretty quiet, there's often a sale every month that puts this case around $40.
CoolerMaster Cavalier is pretty awesome. I'm sure it's quiet as well. CM's generally good with that sort of thing.

If you're really looking for quietness, why not get the case you really like, and get some fan controllers.

Just a thought.

If you want quietness, get some quiet fans and/or a fan controller. Also, if you do, use 120mm (or the new 150mm) fans. They can move the same volume of air with less noise.

well, i have tried many things, and i found out many things...

quiet fans and fan controller doens't do much for me.
and i don't wanna wait until Sonata II since it will be very expensive.

it's not really a *fan* problem. it's the air that goes through air grill in the front..and such.

i can't use LanBoy because it's not black.

3000b is ok... but it has *fixed* rear fan... ack what a hassle.

hmMm you have the same case as I do but the noise is very minimal at best... I cut all my front grills to reduce restriction and I can't hear a single thing when it's turned on... you must have super sonic ears.

well, yes i have the option of taking the grill out...

do i want to? not really.. i am very afraid that i will mess up the case..
and eventually you will have to put some sort of grill or whatever to block that space..

What do you mean by fixed? IT does have three speed settings, (the lowest speed is quiet enough for me), you could always swap the fan out if it doesn't suit you.

He means bolted in. If you buy a 3000b you can e-mail Antec. They'll most likely send you some of these complimentary: http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=30030 I replaced the bolts with these and they work well. You can reuse them too if you're careful.

3000b is the best bang for buck. Put a good PSU in it and it will get you down the road for quite awhile...
