whats there? my normal thursdays are Brennan's Pub with Turtle Racing

You never go by the Leimert Park Village? Nice cultural area. Afro-centric vibe. African-American ran mom & pop businesses. Thursday nights at that spot is the Project Blowed Open Mic night. If you're into checking out hip hop at its realest, that's the place to be. Last time I went, it was a buncha teenagers gathered in circles taking turns in freestyle battles, a lot of them weeded up. I don't know if that's your scene, but if you're into hip hop, definitely check it out.

sh!t i wish i knew about that...a lot of my boys back east are all about that and i love it, but no one i chill with out here is into that seen...i will def. check it out next week

It's been going on since the late 80's where it was the Good Life Cafe. It became the Project Blowed in 94. You're a hip hop guy in Los Angeles and don't know your local scene? The Project Blowed taught the world to freestyle. The Blowed gave hip-hop too many styles to count. Recognize.

If you're talking about nightlife in LA, i personally never was a fan of it so I can't recommend much. IMO the good parts of the nightlife in LA all require some serious connections and some deep pockets. Anyways, I can suggest a few relatively cheap but defintely fun things to do before you leave.

1. Check out Pinks' hot dog stand in Hollywood. The line is definitely worth the wait. Its not an LA landmark for nothing ;-)

2. Drive the entire route of Pacific Coast Highway in the middle of the night, park the car where u can get a good view of the ocean, then sit down and watch the sun come up. Its not to be missed.

3. Drive or walk down the 'Avenue of the Stars' on pico during the night.

4. Head up to the top of Mulholland Drive and check out the view of the city.

5. Check out Yamashiro's Restaurant. Sits just above the Mann Chinese Theatre and right below the Hollywood sign.

6. and of course, the obligatory Roscoe's chicken 'N waffles. 😀

do these things and leave knowing you have checked out the worthy things to do in LA.

If your in the valley climb to the top of mission peak (not a bad climb at all) before sunrise, on a clear day you can see all of the San Fernando valley, all of Los Angeles and even a good part of the pacific ocean. And while your there be nice the the memorial for Mr.Decampos up there, he was a good friend of mines father 🙂

The sunrise from there is something that cannot be described in words. Hang out by the three tree's and your good to go.

Let me know if you actually do it, I would love to hear what you think.
