But it's not like this is a one time thing for you, you fairly consistently demonize Democrats. I'm sure you genuinely pine for the days of greater political compromise while hating Democrats the whole while without any feelings of internal inconsistency. It's pretty amazing to behold.

I do pine away for the old Democrat Party of JFK. I was a very loyal and hard working Democrat for many years...up until the mid 70's. The Democrat Party changed, and not for the better.

Even as a Marine Corps officer, I would take leave during the elections to go home to work for the Democrat Party. I wish the Party would return to its roots. I would be happy to return.

The Republic Party should return to it's roots and nominate someone else like President Eisenhower hell if General / Sec. of State Collin Powell had entered the 2000 campaign and won the nomination then I might very well have voted for him.

Negative statements carry more energy and, therefore, more effectively penetrate the minds of the uneducated masses. It is far simpler and cost-effective to run a campaign on negative statements of the opponent than on attempting to sell yourself to the voters. The campaign strategists simply take the path of least resistance and appeal to the lowest common denominator of the American voters.

In 1994, Peter Drucker said:

"Increasingly, politics is not about "who gets what, when, how" but about values, each of them considered to be absolute. Politics is about "the right to life"...It is about the environment. It is about gaining equality for groups alleged to be oppressed...None of these issues is economic. All are fundamentally moral."

Uno

Politics is essentially about how societal governance should function. It's natural for moral concerns to enter into it.

I have found that the political elite in Washington, DC and politicians in general do not like any candidate that is not dirty and use to doing deals under the table. I think they fear Romney because he is squeaky clean and honest. I think the American public prefer to be lied to. That is the only way some of these scum balls could possibly be elected.

Look at the health care bill for instance. Its title is moronic! The Affordable Health Care Act??? How is health care affordable? Why was the cost estimated before the bill passes saying it will not cost much but now the estimates are 3 times as high? It is because people want to believe in nirvana???

Why not just call it the Magic Health Care Fairy act!?#%&*

As a non-American, this new Romney furore has made me chuckle.

Why do Americans presume their politicians must be whiter than white and pure? Granted, past indiscretions should be accounted for, depending on severity perhaps.

But it seems people actively seek to dig up information on candidates, just to the end of smearing them. it's kind of like "eek! Romney worked in a restaurant as a youngster and forgot to wash his hands after returning from the bathroom! he's unfit to be president!!!" or some such inanity.

Is it because the US is still largely a conservative (socially, not politically) society?

Americans have proven to be a very dumb and easily brain washed people especially those that support the Religious Republican ideology.

It's very scary realizing that it is not completely out the realm of a possibility of another Hitler type leader coming to power as a Republican in the U.S.

You might want to take a closer look at who is in the White House.

Heil, Bobo!
